Rockland Street Bridge - CLOSED AS OF JANUARY 27TH

The Rockland Street bridge closed on Friday, January 27th to begin construction on the bridge structure. During the bridge closure traffic will be rerouted over the Kingsbury Street bridge.

Wellesley High School Project- This project is underway and the town has been working in concert with the MSBA, with a February 2012 expected completion date.
Transportation:
  • Rockland St Bridge - The project was scheduled to begin in July 2011, but failure of the Department of Transportation to reach an agreement with Verizon regarding its utility lines on the bridge, prior to the Verizon strike, has delayed the closure of the bridge.   • Cedar St Bridge- The bridge was successfully replaced over the July 4th holiday weekend
Seniors
Volunteer Drivers Pilot Program- In response to needs expressed by seniors in Wellesley and with support from The Fund for Wellesley, the Wellesley Council on Aging (COA) has launched a Volunteer Drivers Pilot Program designed to provide Wellesley residents 60 and over the opportunity to stay active and involved when they find themselves in circumstances where they are unable to drive, either temporarily or permanently. We are seeking volunteer drivers, as well as seniors who can benefit from the program. If you are looking for a flexible and rewarding volunteer opportunity, that provides a great deal of appreciation or if you know a senior who can benefit from the program, please contact Drive@wellesleyma.gov or leave a message at 508-479-9301.

Weston Field School- After meeting with the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) and Weston Public School officials numerous times over the course of the summer, Rep. Peisch is please with the progress the project is making. The project was approved on September 28th, 2011, to move forward to the "Project Scope and Budget" phase.
